My Friend

Hi friends!  This is week 2 of the Sponging or Stencil challenge at Shining the Light with Our Daily Bread Designs.  Since last week I did sponging I decided to switch and try a stencil.

Our Daily Bread Designs, My Friend, Happy Birthday, Watering Can die, Pennant die, Christian Faith Collection, designer Linda Carson

I started with a stencil I found at Hobby Lobby.  Embossing paste was colored with a couple drops of alcohol ink before applying to the card.  The same color was sprayed around the card using an air brush.
The floral watering can is from the Happy Birthday set and has its own Watering Can die.  The watering can is sitting on top of banners using the Pennant die.  The sentiment is from My Friend set.  Papers are the Christian Faith Collection.

Amazing Grace

Greetings on this Tuesday!!  Our Shining the Light challenge with Our Daily Bread Designs is Sponging or Stencils.  I chose sponging.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Amazing Grace, Blushing Rose Collection, designer Linda Carson

I used Sepia Versafine ink to stamp Amazing Grace on to the Blushing Rose Collection paper.  I torn the paper at random then used the same ink to sponge around the edges.  The background was distressed before sponging those edges also.  The hymn was placed on pop dots.

Happy Birthday

Linda Carson
Hello again!  I had a lady ask me to make a birthday card for her niece.  She wanted her name on the card and to use purple.  She also said the girl would turn 15.
I started with background paper that looks like fireworks exploding in celebration.  I believe it is Basic Grey.  I've had the paper forever.  The cake and balloons are pretty cool for a teenager.  They are by Taylored Expressions.  I was disappointed how the 3d Ranger paint looks on the bottom of the cake.  Guess I need to practice using it.
The name worked out perfectly.  The letters are by Justrite stamps and pennant die by ODBD.  Finishing touches include glitter, pop dots, rhinestones and sequins.
My customer loved it.  I just hope Hazel does too!
     Thanks for visiting!

Hugs

Welcome back!  This is the second week of our Red, White and Blue or Patriotic challenge with Shining the Light at Our Daily Bread Designs.
Linda Carson, ODBD
This is such a fun challenge.  For today's card I started with the beautiful blue paper from the Christian Faith Collection.   I used it on the Decorative Vase die as well as the background.  Vintage Flourish Pattern die sits on top of the blue background.  Love that die cut....a "must" have!
The flowers were made with the Asters and Leaves dies using a heavy mulberry paper.  If you look closely you'll see a couple of blue leaves from the red flower.  The final touch is the Pennants Alphabets and Pennant dies offering huge hugs.

No Sweat

Linda Carson, Stamping Bella

Hi friends!  I think this image and sentiment from Stamping Bella is such a hoot!  I had someone in mind to send it to when I purchased it.  Now I can think of a few more people who could use it.  I should keep it to hang in my stamp room when I sweat the small stuff on some of my cards!
I used sketch #82 from Papertake Weekly.  The papers are Fresh Cut by Basic Grey.
Enjoy your weekend and don't sweat the small stuff!!

Happy Birthday

Welcome friends!  It's Tuesday which means another Shining the Light challenge with Our Daily Bread Designs.  Today's challenge is to make a birthday card.
ODBD, Asters and Leaves dies, Vintage Flourish die, Blushing Rose Collection, designer Linda Carson
I used the birthday sentiment provided on the ODBD designer paper,  Blushing Rose Collection.  The Vintage Labels Dies cuts the sentiment perfectly.  Asters and Leaves dies make up the floral accents.  The only thing I added was stitching.
For more birthday inspiration please visit my challenge team sisters:
